The Autism Society of Georgia, along with the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Forsyth, GA, is offering a free training for families of people with autism and other disabilities. On October 17, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm, families can attend a training conducted by two law enforcement professionals who are also parents of someone with autism; parents can learn how to prepare their loved one for an encounter with a first responder, the hazards to be considered for people with autism who elope, and safety programs and tracking supplies that are available through public safety departments.
